As one of Wesizwes objectives to uplift the community, through the use of an external service provider Wesizwe provides Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) programme to the community of Ledig. Improving the literacy level plays a key role in increasing the employability of members of the communities, thus making a big contribution to the growth and development of the communities. Wesizwe has been providing the ABET programme to 180 learners in 2012, and 2013 ended with 92 learners actively participating. The programme also experienced some drop-outs as some secured full time employment, and some unfortunately experienced poor health. The total investment in ABET for 2013 totaled R905 546.
