20 February 2012
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of Wesizwe Platinum Limited and all Wesizwe employees, we would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Mr Arthur Mashiatshidi, the Company’s former Chief Executive Officer who passed away during the early hours of Saturday, 18 February 2012 after a short illness.
The members of the Board and all Wesizwe employees express their condolences to Mrs. Palesa Mashiatshidi, their children Yolisa, Chipiwa and Renelwe, as well as friends and extended family.
Mr Mashiatshidi contributed significantly to the development of Wesizwe, which included overseeing the finalisation of a transaction that resulted in the introduction of a major new shareholding consortium and contributed towards a smooth management transition. This ensured that the Company’s flagship mining project, the Frisch-Ledig mine, is fully funded to production. Mr Mashiatshidi resigned as a Non-Executive Director of the Company on 19 September 2011, and we will always remain grateful for his guidance and stewardship.”
