Local community members invited to apply for new Portable Skills Classes from Bakubung Platinum Mine

Bakubung Platinum Mine has just announced an invitation to local community members to apply for the latest programme of Portable Skills Classes for 2015.  The new programme recognizes that, over the coming year, Bakubung Platinum Mine will be doing a lot of surface work which requires a number of key skills.  The new Portable Skills Classes aim to address those skills needs.

The construction-based courses will be offered to participants in order to address the current scarcity of skills involved in the building process.  Courses on offer will include Plumbing, Tiling, Bricklaying, and Plastering. This new portable skills development programme is being offered as part of Wesizwe Platinum’s commitment to the Social and Labour Plan.

Any community member interested in applying for this new Portable Skills Classes programme should register their names at the newly opened Information Centre in Ledig.  The register will be at the gate with the security personnel.  Preference will be given to local community members, and everyone is encouraged to apply.  The closing date for registration and the submission of CVs will be 27 February 2015.  Applicants are asked to note that they need to be economically active in order to apply for this opportunity.

For further information, or to address any queries about the 2015 Portable Skills Classes programme, please feel free to visit the Wesizwe Platinum offices in Ledig or Boshoek, or call 014 573 4908.
