Non-Executive Director
Dr. Yulong Tian was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Wesizwe Platinum Limited in 2024.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Exploration from Hebei University of Science and Technology, a Master’s Degree in Economic Geology, and a PhD in Economic Geology from the Kunming University of Science and Technology. He also completed a Chinese Government-sponsored research programme in Economic Geology at Laurentian University (Canada).
Dr. Tian began his career in academia, lecturing and conducting research in mineral resource exploration, mineral economics, and tectonic geochemistry. In 2003 he joined Jinchuan Group Co., Ltd., where he served as Director of the Mining Sub-Institute, later becoming Deputy General Manager of the Mineral Resource Department.
He subsequently joined Metorex Group Limited, serving as Geology Manager, Technical Assistant to the CEO, and later as Executive for Mineral Resource Management (MRM). Dr. Tian has also chaired and held directorships in Ruashi Mining, Chibuluma Mines Plc, and Albidon Zambia Ltd.
Currently, he serves as General Director of Mineral Resources at Jinchuan Group (HK) Mineral Resources Holding Company and Deputy General Manager of Metorex Group.
Dr. Tian brings more than 30 years of international mining experience, combining academic depth and technical leadership in mineral resource evaluation, exploration, and project development.
