Non-Executive Director
Mr. Kaiyu Kang was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Wesizwe Platinum Limited in 2025.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Bristol (United Kingdom), a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Wuhan University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Mr. Kang is a seasoned investment professional with the China-Africa Development Fund (CADF), where he currently serves as Representative of the South Africa Office. Since joining the Fund in 2011, he has progressed through several key roles, including Manager of the Asset Management Department, Assistant Director and later Executive Director of the Investment Department (Infrastructure and Energy Portfolio).
He holds professional certifications in Banking Management and Financial Economics, and has led multiple infrastructure and energy-sector investments across Africa, focusing on sustainable industrialisation and cross-border development cooperation.
At Wesizwe, Mr. Kang contributes his expertise in project finance, infrastructure investment, and strategic partnerships, reinforcing the company’s connection with Chinese development-finance institutions and its long-term growth strategy in the African mining sector.
