Mr. Benjamin Sekano joined Wesizwe Platinum Limited as General Manager: Mining in August 2024. He is a seasoned mining professional with over 22 years of experience and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sekano has consistently delivered operational excellence, led high-performing teams, and overseen complex underground mining operations. His expertise extends to Technical Services, including Geology, Survey, Mine Planning, Rock Engineering, and Ventilation, where he has led the development and implementation of industry best practices.
He is known for establishing robust operational procedures, managing risk effectively, and delivering on key mining projects across various operations. His leadership style emphasizes performance, safety, and sustainability.
At Wesizwe, Mr. Sekano plays a central role in leading mining operations at Bakubung Platinum Mine, supporting the company’s strategic ramp-up and long-term growth. He is also deeply committed to local empowerment, skills development, and ensuring that the mine contributes meaningfully to surrounding communities.
